Eucalyptus

A huge eucalyptus tree in my back yard blew down a couple weeks ago. I've been gathering branches between the rain spells and trying to dry them for arrangements. The leaves are also good as a decongestant when boiled in water and good for many other medicinal purposes plus they keep fleas away. When I planted this tree two years ago it was about a foot high and when it blew over it was about 30 ft tall. Faaaaast growing tree.

  2. I like Eucalyptus too. I didn't know you could use it to chase away fleas. That was a fast growing tree!! They must grow fast and not put down deep root systems?

There's a proverb there somewhere. lol

  4. Holy Crap, they do grow fast, wow!, should start your own cough drop factory! Hmm, interesting pic, but I'd love to see a version of this with some selective desat, like leave (pardon the pun) one branch in color, think it would make it jump out form the others!

  5. Nita, exactly. Very shallow root system so I'm sure thats why it blew over. I want to plant another one but I'll keep this one pruned so it stays smaller... I think.
