Eagle Island

At the Wildlife Safari (my other blog) there is an island where an eagle lives. He was injured by a hunter and can't fly so he lives on his own island where he is safe from harm. This little house is his shelter from the weather. I've driven by it so many times but have never seen the reflection in the water so clear as it was today.

Here he is sitting on his favorite perch under his house.

  1. I like the reflection, it makes the photo. As for the “hunter” injuring the eagle; I would beg to differ with you, “criminal” is the more appropriate term. Good post.

  2. Birds are amazing creatures--so smart. Yes, his injury was definitely criminal, and would be so if law enforcement could apprehend the criminal! Lovely photos.

  3. Sometimes humans are so cruel; sometimes humans are so good. I'm glad this island and shelter are provided for the eagle - and I'm glad that your "shot" was one that did no harm.

A lovely couple of photos, Faye.

  7. Great reflection. It is sooo nice that there are places for these animals to be sheltered and it looks like a nice environment vs a cage :) Both are lovely images :)
