The Herd and The Flock

Today I drove to a little town about 50 miles from here to have lunch with my sisters and a cousin I hadn't seen for about 25 years. We had a great lunch and a great visit. The town, Myrtle Point, is where I hung out in my teenage years and where I completed high school. Of course I snapped pictures all the way there and back. Here is the first. I probably have a weeks worth.

Those are sheep in the back pasture.

  1. Now that's what I call a pastoral scene.
Your pictures make me very nostalgic about past vacations with my family growing up and also when we had a family of our own.
Good memories from a beautiful place.

  4. The landscape is very dramatic and so is the flock. I wonder what birds they are?

  5. Faye, I hadn't visited in a while so I went back to your older posts. The series on the historic school and the tools is just fantastic!
The microscope, the rollers, the gold panning tools are little gems, both from a photographic point of view and as a moving testimony to days gone by...

    Congratulations on your great talent!

  9. Photowannbe, Sandy, cg, Anna, Ash, thanks for the comments. I am indeed fortunate to live in such a beautiful state. These scenes are around me wherever I go and, too often, I just zip past and don't take the time to notice.

Nathalie thanks for your kind words. As far as what kind of bird, I think what you see is the sheep. There are lots and lots of them in the back pasture.

ge, I am absolutely thrilled to be added to the Around The World blog list. I already visit a lot of the blogs on the list so I know what an honor it is to be counted among them. Thanks!

moi, I thought the same thing with that cow looking at me. LOL.
