Still Standing

I discovered another old abandoned building covered with blackberry vines. This one actually seems to be in pretty good shape.

I especially like the willow tree on the right.

Recently I have wondered how it is that every old abandoned building is covered with blackberry vines. Its not as if blackberries are everywhere in Oregon. I've decided there are blackberry elves who scout around for abandoned buildings and when they find one they call in an elf crew to plant the berry vines around it.

  2. That's a great explanation Faye. Those vines hve practically consumed the old building.
The area is so lush. Wonderful shot.

  3. Remember when we were kids, and it seems blackberry bushes were everywhere? That was Oregon. And you're right....now you don't see them as much, but it lets you know that the Johnnie Berry Seed type elves are truly busy if they find a pristine location.

    I like the Willow too.

  4. That's the elves for you ;-) They probably make blackberry brandy in that shed, too..

  5. This does look like a wild and untamed place, just the kind of place that elves might want to be. I like the way you think.

  6. Perhaps the elves are making wine and shouldn't be disturbed! Check it out!

  7. I think the elves want the buildings for themselves and plant the blackberries to keep people out! I like the building and the trees in the background.
